Wendy Dunn BA (hons) QTS

Dance, Drama and Singing Teacher/

Co-Director

Wendy is the co-founder of Rocket Theatre Group and a passionate dance and drama teacher, director and choreographer with a huge love for helping young people grow through performance. With a career rooted in dance education and creative leadership, Wendy brings energy, warmth and high standards to everything she does.

 

Wendy completed her degree in Performing Arts in 2005 before going on to complete her teacher training. She worked for many years as a dance teacher in a local secondary school, alongside delivering dance workshops in numerous primary schools, inspiring students of all ages to move with confidence and creativity.

 

Alongside her teaching career, Wendy built the highly successful dance company DanceCo, creating exciting performance opportunities for young people. Together with Jack, she organised unforgettable trips to London and Paris, where students had the chance to perform at Disneyland. Wendy also created and led the hugely popular dance festivals Dance Factor and Big Dance, held at Carlisle’s Sands Centre, with thousands of students taking part over the years.

 

Wendy has directed and choreographed a wide range of musicals and shows and continues to teach, direct and inspire at Rocket Theatre Group. Now working full time for Rocket, she still delivers dance in local schools and remains passionate about creating inclusive, joyful performance opportunities where young people can thrive.

Jack Dunn BA (hons)

Drama Teacher/Technician/

Co-Director

Jack is the co-founder of Rocket Theatre Group and a lifelong theatre enthusiast who believes theatre should be fun, inclusive and packed with confidence-building moments. With a background spanning youth theatre, education, production and technical theatre, Jack brings both creative energy and real-world experience to everything the company does.

 

Before launching Rocket Theatre Group full time, Jack worked and qualified as a teaching assistant and theatre technician in a local secondary school from 2009 to 2016. During this time, he also built a strong career as a theatre technician in local theatres, a role he has held for many years. In 2016, Jack took the leap to pursue Rocket Theatre Group, turning a passion for youth theatre into a growing creative business.

 

Jack studied Performing Arts at the University of Cumbria, graduating in 2020 with a BA (Hons). His technical experience includes working as Senior Technician at The Sands Centre, touring nationally with Sleeping Beauty with Shared Experience, and supporting countless musicals, pantomimes and productions that have passed through Carlisle.

 

At the heart of it all, Jack loves the work he does at Rocket Theatre Group. Creating a safe, supportive space where young people can grow in confidence, creativity and self-belief,  whether he’s leading rehearsals, designing sets and lighting or training future performers or technicians.

Corinne Redman-Stewart BA (hons) PGCE

Singing Teacher 

Corinne joined the Rocket team in January 2020. She qualified as a primary school teacher in 2003.  After 22 years teaching in a local primary school Corinne currently teaches music to primary and secondary students for Cumberland Music Service, specialising in stringed instruments. Music and singing has been a part of Corinne’s life for as long as she can remember, learning to sing and play the violin and piano from an early age and she has a passion for musical theatre. Corinne has performed in a variety of musicals during her time at secondary school which then lead to her playing the violin in orchestras for amateur musical theatre productions in west Cumbria. Corinne enjoys singing in both choral and solo contexts and is a violinist with Teth3ra Strings trio, Cumbria Camerata and the West Lakes Orchestra, performing regularly throughout Cumbria and the Borders.

Claudia Greenaway BA (hons) QTS

Singing Teacher

Claudia has been part of the Rocket team since January 2020 and is a qualified Primary School Teacher. Claudia currently works as a local KS1 class teacher at a primary school as well as working for Rocket. She has always loved and been involved with Musical Theatre and singing since a very young age. Claudia has been in a handful of Carlisle pantomimes at the Sands Centre alongside other productions and also appeared as Audrey in Cosmic Studio’s production of Little Shop of Horrors. Claudia also performs professionally as a wedding singer in and around Cumbria.

Lauren Walker BA (hons) 

Dance Teacher

Lauren joined the Rocket team as a dance teacher in 2022, having formerly been a Rocket student. She has taken dance classes from a young age and unlocked a further passion for musical theatre after joining Rocket Theatre Group in 2017. This lead to her studying Performing Arts at Carlisle College and then earning her degree in Dance Performance and Teaching at the University of Central Lancashire.

Adam Megson BA (hons)

Technician

Adam joined the team in 2020 after graduating from Rocket as a student, having been involved with the company from an early stage of his performing journey. Rocket has played a significant role in Adam’s development, from performing on stage as a student to discovering a passion for technical theatre. This led him to transition into backstage and technical roles while studying at the University of Cumbria. After graduating in 2023, Adam began working as a freelance technician within the events industry, alongside his role with the Rocket Company as a sound and lighting technician. He has gained experience across a wide range of productions, including pantomimes, dance performances, musicals, and live music events. Adam now works full time at Carlisle College as Technician for Music, Performing Arts, and Media. Despite this, he continues to work with the Rocket team, where he enjoys contributing to high-quality productions, further developing his own skills, and supporting the next generation of performers and theatre enthusiasts in discovering their passion for the theatrical industry.
